Tuscany, Italy: Casa Museo Ivan Bruschi by Rachele
Antique lovers must consider visiting this small museum at Arezzo town of Tuscany Italy. This museum called Casa Museo Ivan Bruschi is a haven of antique collection holding approximately 10,000 pieces. This place is the brainchild of Ivan Bruschi, one of Italy’s well known ancient furniture enthusiasts.
A trip to the museum assures appreciation of the cultural influences that each antique holds. Ivan, together with his brother his Roberto Longhi, improved a place in Arezzo and made it a place for cultural meetings gradually owning up important artifacts in the process. Artifacts are noted for its geographic origin, evolution, and use.
Perhaps the greatest impact that this museum gave to the residents of Tuscany is the lesson that culture has something to do with the choice of art forms. Ivan got different collections selected under the influence of his Catholic upbringing. The present place now holds ancient things like glass furniture, clothes, wooden furniture, weapons, books, daily accessories, sculpture, and jewelry.
For daily accessories, the museum has abundant samples of kitchen utensils, agricultural tools, bed warmers, irons, and utility accessories used by the people of Tuscany Italy years back. A close look of these daily accessories will make the tourist appreciate the evolution of various tools being used today.
Classic books like reference materials and other reading materials. The reference materials include encyclopedias, monographs, and inventories. The reading materials are from different Tuscan authors that Ivan collected through his daily interaction with people.
The wide array of weapons from daggers, breast armors, swords, spears, and cudgels will bring the visitor in awe. The weapons signify the evolution of war materials during those times when gun powder and explosives were not famous yet.
Even if the fabric collection is a bit weathered as a result of time and dust exposure, it is still worthy to be observed. The museum even has Chinese silk kimono and fully accessorized 19th century tailcoat.
Lovers of sculpture and ceramics will love the museum’s display of statues from the Hellenistic age. It also has pottery replicas of human body parts like phallus, feet and hands plus the sanctuaries of god sculptures people relate to health that time.
Casa Museo Ivan Bruschi is open to the public everyday from 10 am to 7pm. The place is a perfect hang out for tourists who want to get in touch with the ancient world through the antiques that signify them.
